New premiere..

Letitia had her first show yesterday as Nurse Ratched! She did a great job, and the audience was ON! They screamed their heads off when Joe came backsliding on stage in the "80's" with no shirt on.. Too bad we had some lightproblems.. Now we're starting to rehearse the swing parts on daytime.. Today Daniel is suppose to learn my part, but we don't have a studio, so you take what you've got, and rehearse at the hotel.. mabye the lobby is good.. Finally found the coffe we've been looking for, "monmouth" has the best espresso so far, we're very happy.. very very happy.. pics comin up soon BYEBYE

  1. Hey!! Just saw the show at the Peacock Theatre. Freaking awesome... the soundtrack was just killer (and I REALLY wanted to buy a CD - you guys should do something on Spotify, so fans can hear the music, some sounded like it was original compositions??) one thing I thought was missing from the production was in the thematic oppositions of the story... the idea i took was that there was a tension between street-dance (real-life/madness) and more formal dance (ballet - medicated), but nurse ratchet's character didn't do any ballet... i think there's a really missed opportunity to clash together these two very different styles and it seems that as great as the Jack Nickelson character was at 'hip-hop' nurse ratchet should have been at a more formal oppositional style. in the film she has a really complex and pervasive presence, trying to bring order, but in doing so crushing humanity. i think the humour was handled brilliantly (fame/flashdance = bonkers!) but the tragedy of the story wasn't as well delivered on and the ending felt abrupt with the Nurse Ratchet character disappearing from the narrative. For me it was most BRILLIANT in the night-time dormitory scene where via dance it got into the psychology of mental-state of minds, but in an incredibly intense (simple but effective) visual metaphor... anyways, just rambling thoughts. can't WAIT to see your next production!!
